Day of the Honey Bee

Ayr & District Beekeepers Association held their annual Honey Show Competition at Belleisle Conservatory. Exhibits were on display in the Conservatory over the weekend, judged and prizes awarded. The public were invited to attend the event on Sunday and view the exhibits. The Beekeepers donned suits and gave a demonstration in the Apiary all about the importance of bees with the public invited to join. Stalls included Burger Stall, teas/coffee and home baking, tuck shop by 1st Alloway Boys Brigade, wax melts and candles, hand crafted goods, tombola, plants. Fun bee games and wet sponge games. A&DBA held honey tasting, educational boards, candle making and sold honey goods. A great day with thanks to A&DBA, BCL Volunteers and 1st Alloway Boys Brigade. Thanks to public for attending and supporting this annual event.
